Carrot - Chantenay Red Core

Sweet with a large, stump-root and deep red-orange center. Smooth and refined in shape. Most all carrots are a great addition to salads, soups, stews, and used as side dishes, juicing or fresh eating. They make great protein companions when pan-roasted, baked or grilled.

All carrots, no matter the variety, contain an excellent source of vitamins A, B1, C, D, E and K. The antioxidant beta-carotene gives carrots their bright orange color. Beta-carotene is absorbed in the intestine and converted into vitamin A during digestion. Carrots also contain fiber and a number of minerals including calcium, iron, potassium, manganese, phosphorous, magnesium, and zinc.
